Lynette Beer Public Speaking 2026
A comprehensive Public Speaking competition where every Rakker (as we say in Afrikaans) has the gift of the gab.
Speak in COLOUR: Two rounds, two adjudicators in each room or venue, two times the fun!
The first elimination round is open to any speaker, after which the top 12 advance to the final. Each finalist may attend the Lynette in-real-life session during the final.
In 2026, only in Gauteng.

First round: 22, 23 May 2026

- The presentation of a persuasive speech
- Convince the audience of your viewpoint using three arguments and supporting source references from your research, as well as a clear personal opinion
- Use any theme and formulate your own topic

- Top 5 in each grade
- Rakker Public Speaker of the Year: Overall winner of the Public Speaking competition
- Heart on the Sleeve Award: Best overall presenter of the year
